USTA Names Dr. Brian Hainline Chief Medical Officer

The USTA announced that Brian Hainline, MD, has been named to a newly created position of Chief Medical Officer, USTA. In this ground breaking position, Dr. Hainline will develop and oversee medical policies affecting all aspects of the sport, from recreational programs to professional tournaments, with an eye toward promoting and developing the healthy growth of tennis.

He will also develop and coordinate comprehensive medical practices for the US Open, Davis and Fed Cup competitions, and USTA Pro Circuit events, and will supervise medical, sport science and conditioning issues for USTA Elite Player Development athletes.

14th Annual ECSS Congress 2009 – Oslo, Norway

We have opened the registration for the 15th annual congress of the European College of Sport Science to be held in Oslo, Norway, June 24th – 27th 2009.

The four-day congress will include approximately 1200 oral and poster presentations, highlighted by 4 plenary sessions and 36 invited symposia.

International Science Congress - Table Tennis & the Aging Population

Dear Colleague,

We kindly invite you to the International Science Congress - Table Tennis and the Aging Population, which will take place from June 12th to 14th, 2009 at the Hotel Diamant (Poreč, Croatia).

This Congress will be organized under the auspices of the Croatian Table Tennis Association, European Table Tennis Union, Faculty of Kinesiology – Zagreb and Faculty of Sport - Ljubljana. The Congress will provide up-to-date information on current applications of sports science to the table tennis and aging population.
